报告人介绍：Jamal A. Malik obtained hisB.A. in Chemistry from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota (US), where hedid total synthesis research under Prof. Rebecca Hoye. He then completed hisPhD at Scripps Research in La Jolla, California (US), studying rhodium andcopper catalysis in Prof. Valery V. Fokin’s laboratory. His postdoctoralresearch at MPIKG in Potsdam (Germany) with Prof. Peter Seeberger focused onnickel photocatalysis. He has worked at Nature Communications as an editorsince 2021, handling organic chemistry.
报告摘要：While publishing one’s findings is an essentialpart of science, many researchers understandably find the process opaque orunclear. This talk will aim to provide some context from the perspective of aneditor at Nature Communications. It will include an overview of the NaturePortfolio journals, and where Nature Communications falls within thisportfolio. Dr Malik will then discuss the journal’s editorial process, hopingto provide some insight into editorial decision-making. Last, he will offerexplanations of some of Nature Communications policies that are offered ormandated. He will be happy to answer any questions afterwards. This lecturewill aim to be relevant to all stages of a scientific career.
