报告人简介：Prof. João Rodrigues is the Director of CQM-Centro de Química da Madeira/Madeira Chemistry Research Centre (National Research Laboratory FCT–UID674), University of Madeira, Madeira Island, Portugal, since 2006. He received his Ph.D. degree (1999) in Chemistry/Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Lisbon (Portugal). His primary research interests are based on the design, synthesis, and characterization of molecular materials namely, dendrimers/metallodendrimers, molecular wires, composites, nanoparticles and polymers for optoelectronics and biomedical applications.
报告内容简介：Dendrimers are a class of hyperbranched polymers that attracted the attention of Academy and Industry in the last decades. Among the possible types of molecules available, dendrimers, due to their clear, highly branched and three-dimensional structure, as well as physiological stability, and capacity to encapsulate or conjugate drugs and/or imaging probes, are in the front line of the new approaches to detect and fight cancer and HIV.In this talk, an overview of dendrimers will be present with the focus in health applications and on the most recent research developed in our group on this field. The cooperation with China and, particularly with DHU in the last 10 years, will be highlighted.
