主讲人简介:Yuen Shing WU is workingas Research Associate/Lecturer under the supervision of Prof. Jintu Fan inFiber Science and Apparel Design department (FSAD), College of Human Ecology,Cornell University. He is graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University withDoctor of Philosophy in 2010 and Bachelor of Arts (Fashion and Textiles) in2003. For the PhD study, he focused on instrumentation, automation and control,programming as well as experimentation. During the PhD study, he built asweating manikin with sedentary and supine postures as well as novel sweatingrate measurement system. The manikin was used to study the thermal comfort ofsleeping bag and to investigate the thermal comfort relationship betweensedentary and supine postures. In respect of undergraduate study, hisdissertation studied the human body physical attractiveness, three-dimensionalmodeling and three-dimensional body scanning, which contributed to thediscovery of Volume to Height Index for explaining human visual perception onhuman body physical attractiveness. Recently, he is working on theinvestigation of micro-climate volume effective on thermal comfort. Apart fromthermal comfort, he also works on smart material for energy harvesting(piezoelectric breathable membrane) and active personal cooling system forenergy saving in HVAC.
